about

"We created MeD in the midst of this dark historical period, with the intention of sharing light and beauty and to remind again that every (dis)human mechanic owes its actions to universal laws connected to a mystery greater than itself .

This new work celebrates this rediscovery through ancestral and traditional sounds, choirs, voices, and instruments, albeit unrelated to an ethnic context but used with a contemporary and transversal meaning, as in the style that has characterized Ab Origine since the beginning. We feel Machina ex Devs is a work that goes back to the essence of sound and our approach to contemporary ethnic music. We worked painstakingly on the sound quality of the ethnic instruments, almost all played live with little use of electronics, and we are highly satisfied with the result. Despite the apparent simplicity of the arrangements, it was a very complex and delicate work, especially in terms of sound design". (Gianni Placido)
